Student loan rules and repayment options can change. Waiting until a problem becomes more serious can make an already stressful situation harder to manage.
If you have received a notice about your repayment plan, are struggling to make payments, or have already defaulted, now is a good time to understand your situation and determine your next step.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1986, Jamie returned to his hometown of Canton, Ohio, and co-founded the retail store, Miller & Son’s with his father, Harley. While facing his father’s health issues and economic challenges that led to a business bankruptcy for Miller & Sons and a personal bankruptcy for his father, Jamie gained valuable insights into the treatment of debtors within the bankruptcy system.
This experience led to his decision to go back to school, earning a law degree from the University of Miami and focus on a career helping people in financial distress. After graduation, Jamie and his wife Felicia returned to Milwaukee, Felicia’s hometown, where they established Miller & Miller law. Over the last 30 years, Miller and Miller has grown into one of the state's leading consumer debt relief firms.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Jamie has actively contributed to community organizations, serving as board chair for the Harry and Rose Samson Family JCC and twice as board president of the Milwaukee Jewish Free Loan Association, where he remains as an active member of the Loan Committee. Jamie is married to longtime community volunteer and former Jewish community professional, attorney Felicia Miller. The joy of their lives are their two daughters, Erin and Hilary, son-in law, Jake and grandson Leon.
